Who Qualifies for Living Free
A 12-month men’s recovery home for adults ready for faith, work, and accountability. It is not a medical clinic.
Living Free is an inpatient substance abuse recovery program for adult men seeking recovery from addiction. The facility is in Falkville, Alabama, and was founded by Rendell Drummond.
Our social model of recovery
Men learn to become accountable for their actions. They participate in community accountability and learn to deal with consequences appropriately, holding peers accountable with love, dignity, and respect.
Men “give back” by cleaning, light maintenance, laundry, and food service. They build independent living skills and care for their living environment.
Recovery comes first
This program is for adult men only. The primary focus of Living Free is recovery first. Other life issues are addressed later, once there is enough sobriety to handle them clearly. Introducing other issues too early can sabotage recovery.

Living arrangements & medical care
Living Free is a group living facility with approximately 52 beds. Men share living spaces. Valuables and large sums of money are discouraged. They remain each man’s responsibility.
There is no onsite medical clinic. Medical emergencies go to the local hospital or voluntary medical personnel.Living Free is not financially responsible for medical bills or prescriptions during enrollment. Those are the client’s responsibility.
Program duration
The overall length of the program is 12 months. Potential clients should commit to completing the entire program uninterrupted and make plans for personal business before admission.

Admission requirements
To receive services at Living Free, applicants must be:
- Male
- 18 years of age or older
- Able to provide self care daily without assistance
- Willing to obtain a Social Security card, birth certificate, and photo ID (we walk you through this process in person after arrival)
- Willing to abide by all rules, regulations, and policies set forth by the facility
- Willing to commit to the full 12-month program
Applicants are also screened against the sex offender registry. Because we are near a school, we cannot accept anyone listed on the registry.
